DeWane Stone is an Atlanta based photographer who has a talent for seeing things that many people may view but not actually notice. His photographs exemplify the art of the less than obvious. He emphasizes architecture, cityscapes, and nature in his work.

On a solo trip to Cozumel in 1989, DeWane took pictures of Mayan ruins in the Yucatan peninsula. One image he captured of “El Castillo” in Chichen Itza helped DeWane realize that photography was a calling for him. That experience ignited an interest that has never faded. He embraced photography then and has been revealing the nuance in the obvious ever since.

While living in Colorado in 1996, he sold his first piece to a Colorado Springs art collector. He had an image selected for the inaugural Atlanta Photographic Group Airport Show at the Hartsfield-Jackson Airport in October of 2010. He has had several images juried into group photography exhibits throughout greater Atlanta.

In 2023, DeWane stepped away from a corporate career in software engineering to focus on his fine art photography. He continues seeking out the less than obvious in Atlanta and around the world. He is grateful for your interest in his art.
